In 2002 I spent my first Christmas at the First Reformed Church of Athens. By the time its previous Advent had rolled around I had had the pleasure of singing in worship and with the choir for several months under the capable and sensitive leadership of our organist, Kathy Boyer. Recognizing that we enjoy a rare gift in her abilities and dedication, the tune for James' text that year, which bore the first line "Did those words make sense to the shepherds?" also bears the name of the street on which Kathy lives.
