This was our initial attempt at an inaugural hymn for the Rev. Dr. Robert White as he assumed the presidency of the New Brunswick Theological Seminary in New Brunswick, New Jersey in 1986.  I don't believe it was used, as it was supplanted soon after it was written by "Praise to God, made known to humans".  Given the climate of resistance to new tunes, that text was sung to Austria, precluding the immediate necessity of my writing a tune for it.

Seminary Place is the west border of the central quadrangle of the original Rutgers campus, once known as Queens College.  The Reformed Church established its seminary there in 1784, and the college grew up around it.
