A happy and hopeful day arrived for Christ Church, Summit, New Jersey when they installed the Reverend Doctor John Bell as their senior pastor. To help celebrate the occasion, James and I collaborated on a hymn of praise which the congregation sang at the service. The incipit of the text for this tune is "Perpetual God, unchanging source". Like Appleton Place, this tune is named for the location of the manse for the senior minister.
